You ever notice that when someone isn’t interested in putting forth the effort to stop and listen.  To spare the time to fully embrace another man’s thoughts; the lackadaisical individual will oftentimes turn the tables and accuse the person of “thinking too much”; or better yet he’ll look at the speaker sideways indicating that he or she may be an incoherent babbling fool?  How exactly does one “think too much”?  And if it is indeed a documented fact that one can “think too much” then explain to this accused ‘overthinker” how she might accomplish “thinking just enough”.  Who determines and regulates this status quo?  When is the sum of mental processes average, good & lacking ‘mental impairment’?  Is the normal John (Joan) Q. Public allowed to have in any given period of time a set standard to abide by if his objective is to remain between the lines.  Is there a class on “thinking less”?  Or a self-help guide, possibly?  No, that wouldn’t make sense given the thought provoking activities such tools are prone to incite.  Creating ever so much more of this illicit “thinking” must be avoided.  But how?  Intellect forbid!  Verbal chastising?  I’m so shameful that I think.  So much for the quote, “I think, therefore I am”.  Man, was that guy a wacked out head case.  We should install those huge, industrial size flyswatters, like in the story “Hitchhikers Guide To The Galaxy” as a means of whole scale discipline towards moderate thinking.  Oh well, thank the Powers that Be that its not me they’re lookin at now because see how I ever so coyly took the focus off my shortcomings, as I leveled the barrel right in that other dude’s direction?  Aren’t I clever now that I don’t think too much??  Lawl, slobber, drool, scorn and make war not peace is my new motto.  Who’s with me?  Oops, sorry I forgot to not think about what I said beforehand, or wait .. Is that now what I’m meant to do?  Oh!!  So confusing, poor me, pass the Valium, Adderal and Percocet, please (and no child proof caps, ok?)     Joy C. Gonzales
